Knoll is a German family synonymous with bow making, beginning in 1932 with master bow maker, Alfred Knoll (1909-1980). Knoll are renowned for their fine German bows for all stringed instruments. Their craftsman make use of Brazilian woods, precious metals and high quality natural materials such as mother of pearl and horse hair with the upmost care. Knoll are committed to the respectful treatment of these rare natural resources, supporting the sustainable use of the pernambuco tree through membership in the IPCI.
